How is Colonial Metals Group rated?

Google reviewers rate Colonial Metals Group 2.8 out of 5 across 13 reviews. That is a third party rating we collected rather than a score of our own, and we do not rank the companies in this directory by it.

What should I check before buying gold or silver from any dealer?

Ask for the total price in writing including shipping and insurance, and ask what the dealer will pay to buy the same item back on the day you buy it. That gap is the real cost of the transaction. Confirm the return window, ask whether the metal ships insured and tracked, and for coins sold as graded, confirm which grading service certified them.

I try to be optimistic. I gave them 25,000 for silver in April and it’s now 10 months later and this summer hasn’t made it to the Depository so I’ll let you figure out whether this should be a one star or two.

I haven't been able to get anyone on the phone, or an email response. I think I made a mistake too. UPDATE: I have had contact with Colonial Metals Group! A representative called me and explained the delays and made sure I was calling the correct number.
